Below is a link to the video of the new Politically Incorrect Show, which was taped on February 5, 2013, with (left to right) Henry Parlee (Planning Board Candidate), Roland Van Liew (Selectman & TM Rep Candidate), Tom Christiano (Show host & producer), Pat Magnell (TM Rep Candidate, Pr. 8), and Chris Garrahan (TM Rep Candidate Pr. 8). Sal Lupoli, the owner of Sal's Pizza & Enterprises, also stopped by the talk for a few minutes about the Synthetic Fields proposal.

Here's the link to the video of the show:

The show gave us an opportunity to briefly get into a few of the more important and interesting current issues, including better oversight, more transparency and accountability for no-bid contracts, cost management and taxes, agricultural use issues, open space and conservation land in Chelmsford, upcoming citizen petition warrant articles, and a little bit about the new fire station plans. It is particularly exciting that Henry Parlee, owner of Parlee Farm, is running for Planning Board. The presence of an expert in agricultural land use on that board would surely be a welcome addition. Pat Magnell and Chris Garrahan also articulately framed the importance of retaining and properly managing town-owned open space.

As for the Town Meeting rep races, there are many excellent candidates in Precinct 9. Although there are enough candidates to fill seats in Precinct 5 and Precinct 6, we could use one or two more good challengers in each of those precincts. However, the biggest concern is that the following precincts are short on candidates:

  • Precinct 2: five candidates for six seats
  • Precinct 3: four candidates for six seats
  • Precinct 4: five candidates for six seats
  • Precinct 7: five candidates for six seats

Nomination papers can be obtained from the town clerk through Friday. Nomination papers must be returned with 25 signatures by 5PM next Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Sincerely,

Roland Van Liew
