Chelmsford Wins!

News outlets today are calling yesterday's vote results a "referendum on 9 North Road."

For those of you who don’t already know, Ann McGuigan was voted off the Planning Board yesterday, and Dick McClure was voted onto the board. I firmly believe that Chelmsford finally has a Planning Board representative who is both well informed and interested in residents’ concerns.

The Proposition two and one-half override, was also defeated. It was a clear message that misinformation and disinformation will not be effective in pushing through ill-advised proposals. Town officials need to start hearing the thousands of residents demanding accountability and take concrete action to restore trust in our local government.

Yesterday provided a solid step forward for honest government. Voters confirmed that we want representatives in Town Hall who are interested in residents' interests rather than self-serving backroom deals.

The next step to responsive government in Chelmsford is a strong and successful recall effort. If you haven't already returned your recall affidavits, please post them to:

If you need to print additional affidavits for your neighbors to sign:

Yours with best wishes and hope for the future of our town,
